一个国家外交部门的发言代表该国的立场和观点,在国家形象建构中具有重要地位。以三维分析模型为理论框架,以系统功能语法为分析手段,基于语料库对中美外交部门新闻发布会发言人的话语进行实证比较研究,可分析和总结双方发言人的话语特征及其建构的中国形象。研究发现:中美双方发言人在词汇层面的分类系统和情态系统、话语层面的内容选择和互文性策略上表现出较大差异,他们各自针对新冠肺炎疫情背景下中国抗疫、经济、政治、军事、外交等维度的表现,建构了“人类命运共同体的共建者”和“美国最严峻的竞争对手”的差异性形象。两者建构的结果差异如此明显,其原因在于双方政治理念、经济政策、文化传统和价值观等方面客观存在的分歧。为了更好地推动中国形象的自我建构和他者建构,有必要拓展国家形象塑造的渠道和方式,进一步优化话语策略并改善话语方式。
Abstract:The statements of a country's diplomatic department represent the standpoints and viewpoints of the country, and play an important role in the construction of its national image.This paper takes Fairclough's three-dimensional analysis model as theoretical framework and Halliday's systemic functional grammar as analytical tools to conduct an empirical comparative study of the statements of spokespersons in Chinese and American diplomatic press conferences based on corpus, in order to understand the discourse characteristics of spokespersons from both sides and China's national images constructed by them.The study finds that the utterances of Chinese and American spokespersons show obvious differences in the categorization and modality systems at the lexical level, content selection and intertextual strategies at the discourse level.They construct different images of China in the dimensions of anti-pandemic, economy, politics, military, and diplomacy, and thus construct respectively the overall image of China as a "co-constructor of a community with a shared future of mankind" and "the most serious competitor of the United States".The reason why the construction results of the two sides differ so obviously lies in the differences of their political ideas, economic policies, cultural traditions and values.In order to better promote China's image construction by itself and others, it is necessary to expand the channels and ways of national image building, enhance discourse strategies and improve expression methods.
